Pavement Repairs Scheduled on Interstate 5 North of Downtown Sacramento

Sacramento – Caltrans is alerting motorists that overnight traffic-interfering work with reduced lanes starts tonight on northbound Interstate 5 (I-5) and will continue this week for pavement repairs.

Caltrans’ contractors have scheduled lane, on- and off-ramp nightly closures at various locations on northbound I-5 between Richards Boulevard and the Interstate 80 (I-80) interchange from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.  tonight through Saturday. No two consecutive ramps will be closed concurrently.

Residents should expect to hear loud, intermittent noises from heavy construction equipment, including vehicle back-up warning alarms.

Closure Schedule and Locations:
NB I-5 #3 and #4 lanes from Richards Blvd. to the I-80 interchange  tonight between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m.

On- and Off-Ramps:
Richards Blvd. On-ramp to NB I-5 overnight tonight
Garden Highway On-ramp to NB I-5 overnight tonight
West El Camino Ave. Off-ramp from NB I-5 overnight tonight and Friday

Caltrans reminds motorists to “Be Work Zone Alert” and slow in construction zones for the safety of travelers and crews performing these improvements.
