FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Sacramento – Caltrans is alerting motorists of nighttime construction work on westbound U.S. Highway 50 (US-50) in Sacramento for the Highway 50 Multimodal Corridor Enhancement (Fix50) Project.

This work is part of the ongoing $483.5 million project, which includes $390.2 million in Senate Bill 1 funding and $28.4 million from the City of Sacramento’s Measure A.

The nighttime work will reduce westbound US-50 to one lane. This work is required to perform repairs to the bridge over Folsom Boulevard near State University Drive. The schedule includes:

Friday, March 8 from 9 p.m. to Saturday, March 9 at 8 a.m.

Westbound Closures

  • Westbound #1, #2 and #3 lanes from Occidental Drive to 65th Street
  • Westbound Howe Avenue on-ramp
  • Westbound Hornet Drive on-ramp

    Other Closures
  • Folsom Boulevard around the “Fix50” project zone. Motorists should consider alternate routes at 14th Avenue or College Town Drive to avoid the highway and local road closures.

These closures will reduce the need for prolonged construction operations, expediting the work schedule on the project.

The schedule is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment and/ or materials, and construction related issues.
