Placer County – Caltrans is advising motorists of continued traffic-interfering work on State Route 28 (SR-28) along the north shore of Lake Tahoe next week.
Southwest Gas and its contractor, Q&D Construction, will continue work on a gas line replacement project on Highway 28 between Tahoe City and Kings Beach.
- One-way traffic control is scheduled between Dollar Drive and Mackinaw Road from Sunday, October 15 at 7 p.m. until Friday, October 20 at 2 p.m. No work is scheduled between the hours of 2 p.m. – 7 p.m. each day.
- One-way traffic control is scheduled between Granite Road and Sahara Drive from Sunday, October 15 at 7 p.m. until Friday, October 20 at 2 p.m. No work is scheduled between the hours of 2 p.m. – 7 p.m. each day.
- One-way traffic control is scheduled between Lardin Way and Chinquapin Drive from Sunday, October 15 at 7 p.m. until Monday, October 16 at 7 p.m.
- One-way traffic control is scheduled between Ridgewood Road and Center Street in Carnelian Bay on Friday, October 20 from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m.
- One-way traffic control is scheduled between Onyx Street and Ridgewood Road in Carnelian Bay from Thursday, October 19 at 7 a.m. until Friday, October 20 at 2 p.m.
- One-way traffic control is scheduled between Beach Avenue and Laurel Drive from Tuesday, October 17 at 7 p.m. until Wednesday, October 18 at 6 p.m.
Motorists could encounter delays of up to 30 minutes. All work on road construction projects will be suspended on weekends. Schedules are subject to change due to weather, equipment or material availability or other unexpected events.
Southwest Gas has received a grading exemption from the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency for Q&D to continue earth-disturbing work beyond October 15. Work will continue as long as weather allows.
