Lake Tahoe Highways Project Updates

El Dorado/Placer County  – Caltrans is advising motorists of continued traffic-interfering work on State Route 28 and U.S. Highway 50 within the Lake Tahoe Basin next week.

Electrical work related to the recent repaving of U.S. 50 in South Lake Tahoe will lead to several lane closures starting Monday, October 9.

Monday, October 9 from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. -  One eastbound lane will be closed between Trout Creek and Fairway Avenue.

Tuesday, October 10 from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. – One eastbound lane will be closed between Fairway Avenue and State Line Avenue. One westbound lane will be closed between Wildwood Avenue and Fairway Avenue.

Wednesday, October 11 from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. – One westbound lane will be closed between State Line Avenue and Fairway Avenue. 

Thursday, October 12 from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. – One westbound lane will be closed between Fairway Avenue and Trout Creek.

Friday, October 13 from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. – One eastbound lane will be closed between Trout Creek and Rufus Allen Boulevard.

In North Lake Tahoe, Southwest Gas and its contractor, Q&D Construction, will continue work on a gas line replacement project on Highway 28 between Tahoe City and Kings Beach.

One-way traffic control is scheduled between Beach Avenue and Ridgewood Road from Sunday, October 8 at 7 p.m. until Friday, October 13 at 2 p.m.

One-way traffic control is also scheduled between Rocky Ridge Road and Mackinaw Road in Tahoe City from Wednesday, October 11 at 7 p.m. until Friday, October 13 at 2 p.m.

Motorists could encounter delays of up to 15 minutes. All work on road construction projects will be suspended on weekends. Schedules are subject to change due to weather, equipment or material availability or other unexpected events.
