FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Placer County – Caltrans is advising motorists of continued traffic-interfering work on State Highways 28 and 267 in North Lake Tahoe next week.
Southwest Gas and its contractor, Q&D Construction, continue to work on a gas line replacement project on Highway 28 between Tahoe City and Kings Beach.
One-way traffic control is scheduled between Center Street and Ridgewood Road in Carnelian Bay from Sunday, August 6 at 7 p.m. until Friday, August 11 at 8 a.m. Both lanes will be open to the traveling public from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday. No work is scheduled on the weekend.
One-way traffic control also is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday from Anderson Road to Estates Drive in Tahoe Vista. One day of traffic control is scheduled from Agatam Avenue West to Pino Grande between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 8.
NOTE: No traffic-interfering work is scheduled on Highway 28 on Wednesday, August 9 due to the 27th annual Tahoe Summit at the Kings Beach State Recreation Area.
Pavement repair work with one-way traffic control will continue on Highway 267 next week as well. Work is scheduled at various locations between National Avenue and Sawmill Flat Road from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday. No work is scheduled on the weekend.
Granite Construction Company is performing the work as part of an $8 million emergency contract to address winter storm damages in Placer County on Highways 28, 89 and 267, with Highway 267 being the last segment of the project.
Motorists could encounter delays of up to 30 minutes on Highway 267 and Highway 28. Highway 89 between Truckee and Tahoe City can be used as alternate route to avoid delays on Highway 267. All work on road construction projects will be suspended on weekends and the Labor Day holiday.
Schedules are subject to change due to weather, equipment or material availability or other unexpected events.
For more information on the Highway 28 project, visit Southwest Gas: North Lake Tahoe Lateral Pipeline Replacement Project (swgas.com) or call the SWG customer service line at (775) 353-7039.
