FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
El Dorado County – Caltrans is alerting motorists to traffic-interfering work on U.S. Highway 50 (US 50) for pavement repair work starting on Tuesday, June 13.
Granite Construction will be grinding down and repaving rough sections of pavement on US 50 in both directions between Pioneer Trail and Jewell Road north. This work is part of the $17.1 million Caldor Fire Restoration Project.
One-way traffic control will be in effect from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 13 through Thursday, June 15. Motorists should expect delays of up to 20 minutes. Flaggers at each end of the construction zone will be used along with a pilot vehicle during roadwork activity.
Motorists are reminded that pilot vehicles are to be followed at all times within the project zone for the safety of construction crews and travelers. Failure to follow pilot vehicles may result in a $220 citation with traffic fees doubled in construction zones.
The schedule is subject to change based on weather, availability of equipment or materials or other unexpected events.
Caltrans issues construction updates on Twitter @CaltransDist3, on Facebook at CaltransDistrict3 and the online lane closure reports. For real-time traffic, click on Caltrans’ QuickMap quickmap.dot.ca.gov/ or download the QuickMap app from the App Store or Google Play.
