Overnight Closure of State Route 49 Scheduled for Drainage Work

Placer County – Caltrans is alerting State Route 49 (SR-49) motorists of an upcoming overnight highway closure south of Auburn between Lincoln Way and Old Foresthill Road for maintenance work.

SR-49 will be closed to traffic for slope repairs and drainage work between 6 p.m. Friday, October 14 and 6 a.m. Saturday, October 15. Motorists will be detoured around the highway closure via Lincoln Way, Foresthill Road and Old Foresthill Road. An additional 15 minutes of travel time is expected for the detour route.

Caltrans is reminding commercial vehicle operators that tractor trailers over 30 feet long from kingpin to axle and oversized loads are not advised on this segment of SR-49 and nearby local roads. Alternate highway routes are recommended during maintenance work.

The scheduled closure is subject to change due to weather, equipment or material availability or other unexpected events.
