Overnight Closures of State Route 49 Scheduled for Paving Work

Detour Route Available During Paving Work South of Auburn

Placer County – Caltrans is alerting State Route 49 (SR-49) motorists of upcoming overnight highway closures south of Auburn between Lincoln Way and Old Foresthill Road for paving work.

Between 6 p.m. and 5 a.m. Sunday, August 7 and Monday, August 8, SR-49 will be closed to traffic for paving operations. Motorists will be detoured around the highway closure via Lincoln Way, Foresthill Road and Old Foresthill Road. Motorist should allow for an additional 15 minutes of travel time during the paving work.

Caltrans is reminding commercial vehicles that tractor trailers over 30 feet long from kingpin to axel and oversized loads are not advised on this segment of SR-49 and nearby local roads. Alternate routes are recommended during paving work.
