Butte County – Caltrans is alerting motorists about an upcoming five-day closure of North Arbol Avenue at State Highway 162 in Oroville for roadwork.
Crews are scheduled to start the closure at approximately 10 p.m. on Wednesday, July 27 and reopen the roadway by 11:59 p.m. Monday, August 1. Motorists should use alternate routes during this time.
The around-the-clock closure will allow crews to rehabilitate the pavement section of North Arbol at Highway 162.
Next week’s work is part of a $22 million project, which aims to improve safety by widening the shoulders, enhancing drainage systems, constructing a two-way left turn lane and creating a roadside recovery area in the event an errant vehicle departs from the roadway.
DeSilva Gates Construction of Dublin, Alameda County, is the contractor for the project, which is expected to finish in 2023. Weather, availability of supplies or other unexpected events may prolong construction activities.
