FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Sacramento County – Caltrans is alerting motorists that beginning next week the Isleton bridge on State Route 160 near the town of Isleton will be under one way traffic control during daytime hours into the early evening.

Additional construction is needed to maintain and keep the bridge operational. The bridge is scheduled for ongoing parts replacement work.

BRIDGE SCHEDULE:

  • From 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. on March 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18.
  • One-way Traffic Control
  • Use the River Road and the Walnut Grove Bridge for an alternate route.
  • No two bridges will be closed at the same time.

Advance signage has been placed at the bridge. Caltrans urges motorists to use this detour or use Interstate 5 in Sacramento County as an alternate route.

These delta bridges were originally constructed in the early 1920s and then reconstructed or refurbished in the early 1950s. Motorists should plan accordingly and expect additional travel time.

Current truck restrictions will apply. California legal trucks having a kingpin-to-rear-axle of more than 30 feet are not recommended on State Route 160.

Weather conditions could delay or cancel scheduled work. Caltrans advises motorists to “Be Work Zone Alert.” For motorists using the State Route 84 Real McCoy and SR-220 Ryer Island Ferries as a bridge detour, additional ferry information is located on our Caltrans Delta Ferries website at: http://www.dot.ca.gov/d4/deltaferries/.
