FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Butte County — Caltrans is alerting motorists about scheduled overnight one-way traffic control and an intermittent roadway closure next week on State Highway 70 in southern Butte County.

Motorists should anticipate traffic delays when traveling on Highway 70 between East Gridley Road and Marysville from 9 p.m. Tuesday, November 30, to 3 a.m., Wednesday, December 1. Caltrans advises motorists to use alternate routes.

The lane restrictions and intermittent roadway closure will allow crews to off load a large piece of equipment from a flatbed truck and lower it to the flood plain below in the Honcut Creek area about four miles south of the intersection of East Gridley Road/Stimpson Lane.

The work is part of a $50 million project to create continuous passing lanes with a two-way left-turn lane between East Gridley Road and the Butte-Yuba County line and construct a new bridge over Honcut Creek.

Weather or unexpected events may delay or postpone work. Other construction updates in the region are posted Twitter @CaltransDist3 and on Facebook at CaltransDistrict3. For real-time traffic, click on Caltrans’ QuickMap or download the QuickMap app from the App Store or Google Play.
