For Immediate Release

Placer County – Caltrans is alerting motorists to intermittent Interstate 80 (I-80) ramp closures in Placer County between Roseville and Auburn for sign installation work.

Curve warning signs that meet current federal and state standards are being installed on state highways at various locations in Colusa, Glenn, Sacramento, Yolo, Placer and Nevada counties. Work on the $500,000 project is nearing completion; however, sign installations at some locations will require intermittent ramp closures next week.

I-80 motorists should expect overnight, intermittent ramp closures at the following locations between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. Monday, August 23 through Thursday, August 26. Only one ramp will be closed at a time.

  • I-80 eastbound off-ramp to Riverside Avenue (Exit 102)
  • I-80 eastbound off-ramp to Taylor Road/Pacific Street (Exit 105B)
  • I-80 eastbound off-ramp to Elm Avenue/Placerville (Exit 119C)
  • I-80 westbound off-ramp to Highway 49/Grass Valley (Exit 119B)

The schedule is subject to change based on weather, availability of equipment or other unexpected events. Caltrans advises motorists to “Be Work Zone Alert.” The department will issue construction updates on Twitter @CaltransDist3 and on Facebook at CaltransDistrict3.
