For Immediate Release

Placer County – Caltrans is alerting motorists to expect travel delays and intermittent one-way traffic control on State Route 193 (SR-193) between Lincoln and Newcastle.

Caltrans just started work on a grinding and paving project that will address roadway deterioration on a segment of SR-193 between Sierra College Boulevard and the Interstate 80 (I-80)/SR-193 separation with new rubberized, hot-mix asphalt. The project will also include upgrades to guardrail treatments, signage and roadway striping that meet current transportation standards.

One-way traffic control with a guided pilot car will be in effect daily at various locations during work periods with 15-minute travel delays expected.

  • Monday, July 26 through Friday, July 30 from 3 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Monday, August 2 through the end of September from 3 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Monday through Friday only).

Teichert Construction of Sacramento is the prime contractor for the $3 million project. Completion is estimated by the end of September. The schedule is subject to change based on weather, availability of equipment or other unexpected events.

Caltrans reminds motorists to Be Work Zone Alert and slow in construction zones for the safety of travelers and crews performing these improvements. The department will issue construction updates on Twitter @CaltransDist3 and on Facebook at CaltransDistrict3.
