UPDATE 2 Extended Partial Closures Scheduled for I-80 04-22-2021

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

YOLO and SACRAMENTO COUNTY – Caltrans is alerting motorists that weekend work continues at the Caltrans Workers Memorial Bridge (Bryte Bend Bridge) on eastbound Interstate 80 (I-80) at the Sacramento River requiring an extended lane closure.

Ongoing pavement work is scheduled for the shoulder. For workers and motorists’ safety the far right #3 eastbound lane and the eastbound Reed Avenue On-ramp must be closed Friday to Saturday.

Only one lane will remain open for traffic later in the evening to allow the contractor additional space for construction equipment.

Motorists should use caution when travelling through the work zone and expect construction vehicles to be entering and exiting the highway. The California Highway Patrol will be present in the work zone.

PARTIAL CLOSURE SCHEDULE:

  • Outside #3 far right lane for Eastbound I-80 will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday 4/23 through Noon Saturday 4/24.

     

  • Eastbound I-80 Reed Ave. On-ramp Full Closure from 9 p.m. Friday 4/23 through Noon Saturday 4/24.

DETOUR:

For Access to EB 80 from Reed Avenue- Take WB 80 to the EB 50 connector, Exit at Harbor Blvd EB, use WB 50 on-ramp, continue to EB 80 connector.
