Culvert Construction Work Scheduled for State Route 16

COLUSA AND YOLO COUNTY – Caltrans is alerting motorists that various locations along State Route 16 from north of the Cache Creek Regional Park to Rumsey, will be limited to one lane in both directions Nov. 30, and Dec. 1, 2, and 3 for daytime work. Nighttime work will require a full closure.

Caltrans will be performing construction to the culverts from Bear Creek to Rumsey Canyon. A contractor is scheduled to remove dead or dying trees and debris, remove paving, install piping and trench shields at the work site.

For safety to workers and motorists, access to SR-16 will be reduced to one-way traffic control for northbound and southbound directions from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on 11/30 – 12/ 1, 2, 3.

Full closure of SR-16 will occur nightly on 12/ 2, 3, and 4 from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Motorists travelling in this area should expect delays and plan for additional travel time.

Weather or other unexpected delays could postpone the work. Caltrans advises motorists to “Be Work Zone Alert” and “Slow for the Cone Zone.”
