UC Davis Medical Center Exits along U.S. Highway 50 Scheduled to be Closed in Sacramento County (9/18/2020)

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Sacramento County — The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is scheduled to close the off-ramps to the UC Davis Medical Center. (The eastbound and westbound off-ramps from U.S. Highway 50 to the medical facility will not be closed at the same time.)

The contractor is scheduled to close the off-ramp from eastbound US-50 to 34th Street (Exit 7 – UC Davis Medical Center Exit) beginning 9:00 p.m. Monday until 6:00 a.m. Tuesday for survey work. Emergency responders will be able to use the off-ramp. All other vehicles please consider using the suggested alternate route.

 

Suggested Alternate Route:

  • From eastbound US-50 take the 65st Street off-ramp (Exit 8B). Turn left (northbound) onto 65th Street; stay to the right side to turn back onto westbound US-50 and use the off-ramp to Stockton Boulevard (Exit 6C). (The westbound off-ramp from US-50 to Stockton Boulevard will remain open throughout the duration of the closure.)

A contractor is also scheduled to close the off-ramp from westbound US-50 to Stockton Boulevard (Exit 7 – UC Davis Medical Center Exit) beginning 9:00 p.m. Friday until 8:00 a.m. Saturday for survey work. Emergency responders will be able to use the off-ramp. All other vehicles please consider using the suggested alternate route.

 

Suggested Alternate Route:

  • From westbound US-50 take the 16st Street off-ramp (Exit 5). Continue on W Street; turn left on 15th Street then turn left on X Street back onto eastbound US-50 and use the 34th Street off-ramp (Exit 7 – UC Davis Medical Center Exit). (The eastbound off-ramp from US-50 to 34th Street will remain open throughout the duration of the closure.)

In addition, crews are scheduled to close the following lanes and ramps along US-50:

  • Westbound motorists expect the #1 (left) lane closed at the Yolo County line (on Viaduct-Pioneer Bridge) from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. Monday through Wednesday. A crew is scheduled to inspect the bridge.

     

  • Westbound motorists expect the connector ramp to southbound State Route 99 closed from 11:00 p.m. until 4:00 a.m. Tuesday through Friday for survey work. (The connector ramp will be open to emergency vehicles.)

 

Suggested Alternate Route:

  • From westbound US-50 take the 16st Street off-ramp (Exit 5) then turn left (southbound) onto 15th Street. Stay to the left side and turn left onto X Street then continue onto eastbound US-50 using the eastbound 16th Street on-ramp. Take SR-51 (Capital City Freeway) Connector to northbound SR-51 (Exit 6 C).
  • Westbound motorists expect the connector ramp to northbound SR-51 (Capital City Freeway) closed from 11:00 p.m. until 4:00 a.m. Tuesday through Friday. A contractor is scheduled for survey work. (The connector ramp will be open to emergency vehicles.)

     

  • Westbound motorists expect the Stockton Boulevard on-ramp closed from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Tuesday through Friday. A contractor is scheduled for survey work. (The on-ramp will be open to emergency vehicles.)

     

  • Eastbound motorists expect the Stockton Boulevard on-ramp closed from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Monday through Saturday. A contractor is scheduled for survey work. (The on-ramp will be open to emergency vehicles.)

     

  • Eastbound motorists expect the #1 (left) lane, median and left shoulder closed on US-50 from Interstate 5 to 15th Street/ X Street from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Monday through Thursday for core drilling.

     

  • Eastbound motorists expect the #5 (right) lane, right shoulder and auxiliary lane closed on US-50 from Stockton Boulevard to 48th Street Overcrossing beginning 7:00 p.m. Tuesday until 5:00 a.m. Wednesday for utility work.

     

  • Eastbound motorists expect the #4 (right) lane, right shoulder and auxiliary lane closed on US-50 from Stockton Boulevard to 26th Street Undercrossing beginning 7:00 p.m. Monday until 5:00 a.m. Tuesday for survey work.

     

  • Eastbound motorists expect the #5 (right) lane, right shoulder and auxiliary lane closed on US-50 Stockton Boulevard to 65th Street Undercrossing beginning 10:00 p.m. Friday until 8:00 a.m. Saturday for survey work.

     

  • Westbound motorists expect the #4 (right) lane, right shoulder and auxiliary lane closed on US-50 from Stockton Boulevard to SR-99 from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Tuesday through Friday for survey work.

     

  • Westbound motorists expect the #1 (left) lane, median and left shoulder closed on US-50 from 26th Street Undercrossing to the Yolo County line (on Viaduct-Pioneer Bridge) beginning 10:00 p.m. Friday until 7:00 a.m. Saturday for survey work.

     

  • Eastbound motorists expect the 59th Street off-ramp closed beginning 9:00 p.m. Friday until 8:00 a.m. Saturday for survey work. (The off-ramp will be open to emergency vehicles.)

     

  • Eastbound motorists expect the X Street on-ramp closed beginning 9:00 p.m. Monday until 6:00 a.m. Tuesday for survey work. The on-ramp will be open to emergency vehicles.)

     

  • Westbound motorists expect the W Street off-ramp closed from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Tuesday through Friday for survey work. (The off-ramp will be open to emergency vehicles.)

     

  • Eastbound motorists expect the 65th Street Undercrossing southbound loop on-ramp closed beginning 9:00 p.m. Friday until 8:00 a.m. Saturday for survey work. (The on-ramp will be open to emergency vehicles.)

     

  • Eastbound motorists expect the 65th Street Undercrossing off-ramp closed 9:00 p.m. Friday until 8:00 a.m. Saturday for survey work. (The off-ramp will be open to emergency vehicles.)

     

  • Motorists expect the #1 (left) lane closed (on local cross-street) at Hornet Drive Undercrossing from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday for utility work.

     

  • Westbound motorists expect the #1 (left) lane, median and left shoulder closed on US-50 from SR1-6 Separation/ Howe Avenue to 65th Street Undercrossing from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Monday through Thursday for core drilling.

     

  • Westbound motorists expect the SR-16 Separation/ Howe Avenue on-ramp closed from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Monday through Saturday for electrical work.

     

  • Eastbound motorists expect the SR-16 Separation/ Howe Avenue on-ramp closed from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday for core drilling. (The on-ramp will NOT be open to emergency vehicles.)

     

  • Eastbound motorists expect the Sunrise Boulevard Overcrossing off-ramp partially closed — the #2 (right) lane and right shoulder — from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Monday through Thursday for sidewalk, curb and gutter work.

     

  • Eastbound motorists expect the #3 (right) lane and right shoulder closed (on local cross-street) at Sunrise Boulevard Overcrossing from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Monday through Thursday for sidewalk, curb and gutter work.

Work is scheduled to begin as listed but subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment and/ or materials, and construction related issues.
