Union Pacific Starts Emergency Repairs on Marysville Train Trestle (04/02/2020)

MARYSVILLE — Union Pacific is closing a segment of State Highway 70 at the Marysville train trestle during the daytime hours this week for emergency repair work.

Crews are scheduled to work on the overcrossing from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. today, Thursday and possibly Friday. The railroad-owned trestle was damaged after it was struck by a semi-truck on Monday.

Motorists are directed to the following detour routes:

• Northbound travelers: Take E. 12^th Street to Ramirez Street. Then turn left onto 18^th Street to continue to Highway 70.
• Southbound motorists: Take 18^th Street to Ramirez Street. Then turn right on E. 12^th Street to continue to Highway 70.

Freight hauling trucks are directed to the following detour routes:

• Northbound trucks: Take E. 12^th Street to Yuba Street, left onto 17^th Street, right to Chestnut Street, left to 18^th Street to continue to Highway 70.
• Southbound truckers: Take 18^th Street, turn right to Chestnut Street, left to 17tth and then turn right to Yuba Street to E. 12^th Street to continue to Highway 70.

Weather or unexpected events may delay or prolong the work.
