Union Pacific Starts Emergency Repairs on Marysville Train Trestle (04/02/2020)

MARYSVILLE — Union Pacific is closing a segment of State Highway 70 at the Marysville train trestle during the daytime hours this week for emergency repair work.

Crews are scheduled to work on the overcrossing from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. today, Thursday and possibly Friday. The railroad-owned trestle was damaged after it was struck by a semi-truck on Monday.

Motorists are directed to the following detour routes:

  • Northbound travelers: Take E. 12th Street to Ramirez Street. Then turn left onto 18th Street to continue to Highway 70.
  • Southbound motorists: Take 18th Street to Ramirez Street. Then turn right on E. 12th Street to continue to Highway 70.

Freight hauling trucks are directed to the following detour routes:

  • Northbound trucks: Take E. 12th Street to Yuba Street, left onto 17th Street, right to Chestnut Street, left to 18th Street to continue to Highway 70.
  • Southbound truckers: Take 18th Street, turn right to Chestnut Street, left to 17tth and then turn right to Yuba Street to E. 12th Street to continue to Highway 70.

Weather or unexpected events may delay or prolong the work.
