MARYSVILLE — Union Pacific is closing a segment of State Highway 70 at the Marysville train trestle during the daytime hours this week for emergency repair work.

Crews are scheduled to work on the overcrossing from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. today, Thursday and possibly Friday. The railroad-owned trestle was damaged after it was struck by a semi-truck on Monday.

Motorists are directed to the following detour routes:

  • Northbound travelers: Take E. 12th Street to Ramirez Street. Then turn left onto 18th Street to continue to Highway 70.
  • Southbound motorists: Take 18th Street to Ramirez Street. Then turn right on E. 12th Street to continue to Highway 70.

Weather or unexpected events may delay or prolong the work. Caltrans advises motorists to “Be Work Zone Alert.” The department will issue construction updates on Twitter @CaltransDist3 and on Facebook at CaltransDistrict3.
