NEVADA/SIERRA COUNTIES – Caltrans is continuing emergency guardrail repairs on Interstate 80 from Boca to the Nevada state line, necessitating lane reductions and permit load restrictions.
Maintenance crews have been replacing damaged guardrail for the last few weeks. The planned work schedule for completion is as follows:
- Wednesday, October 9: Westbound from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. (no restrictions)
- Thursday, October 10 – Friday, October 11: Eastbound from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. (permit loads not allowed)
- Monday, October 14 – Friday, October 18: Eastbound from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. (permit loads not allowed)
During final eastbound guardrail repairs, permit loads will not be allowed on Interstate 80 from Boca to the state line. Wide-load trucks are advised to use alternate routes or wait until work is completed for the day before traveling. Motorists should anticipate travel delays in the area and slow for work zones.
Weather or unexpected events may delay or prolong the work.
