Sacramento County — Motorists can expect travel delays beginning Wednesday, August 7 on eastbound U.S. Highway 50 in Sacramento at the California State University Sacramento exit.

A contractor will be closing the exit loop-ramp to Hornet Drive around the clock beginning 10 p.m. Wednesday, August 7 and continuing through 5 a.m. Saturday, August 24.

Caltrans urges motorists to plan for these delays and allow additional travel time. The following alternate routes are recommended.

Suggested Routes:

  • From eastbound U.S. 50 Exit 9 Continue to Power Inn Road (South) to Folsom Boulevard (West) to Hornet Drive (North) or continue from Folsom (West) to State University Drive (North) for access to CSU Sacramento.

The $2.9 million project will preserve and extend the life of existing pavement and improve the overall ride quality. The work will include adding an additional lane to the ramp and improve lighting.

Weather or unexpected events may delay or prolong the work. Caltrans advises motorists to “Be Work Zone Alert.” The department will issue construction updates on Twitter @CaltransDist3 and on Facebook at CaltransDistrict3.
