Yolo County — Caltrans is alerting motorists a 1.2-mile stretch of State Highway 113 north of Woodland will be closed for nearly a month for major paving work.

Starting today, crews are closing the route to through traffic between Best Ranch Road and County Road 17 for pavement grinding and paving work. The closure will continue through May 13. Only local residents will be allowed through the area. Other motorists should follow the designated detour route.

The closure is part of an $11.9 million project to overhaul and repave more than 14 lane miles of roadway between Interstate 5 and County Road 102 in Knights Landing. Completion is expected later this year.

Weather or unexpected events may delay or prolong the work. Caltrans advises motorists to "Be Work Zone Alert." The department will issue construction updates on Twitter @CaltransDist3 and on Facebook at CaltransDistrict3. For real-time traffic, click on Caltrans' QuickMap or download the QuickMap app on iTunes or Google Play.
