Shingle Station Paving and Drainage

The Project:

The Shingle Station Paving and Drainage project in Shasta County is on State Route (SR) 44 at various locations, from 0.3 mile east of Shingletown Ridge Road to Lassen County Line.

Project Benefits:

The purpose of the project is to restore the pavement to a state of good repair that will require minimal maintenance, rehabilitate deficient culvert systems to restore the integrity of the traveled way, and replace outdated Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) elements in order to continue providing road condition information to the traveling public.


Project Includes:

This project includes major drainage and Capital Preventative Maintenance

(CAPM) minor pavement rehabilitation of SR 44. This project will improve and restore

the aging drainage facilities by replacing and rehabilitating the culverts, reestablishing their structural integrity. Also included is the installation of new recessed pavement markers and pavement markings. Signage, delineators, and object markers will all be brought up to current standards. Guard rail will be replaced, and census loops and ITS elements will be installed.

 

Current Project Schedule:

It is estimated this project will take 100 workings days, with all days requiring traffic control. Construction is scheduled to start in the fall of 2026.
