Pit One Grade Rockfall Mitigation

The Project:

The Pit One Grade Rockfall Mitigation project is in Shasta County near Fall River Mills from 2.7 miles west of Fall River Golf Road to 1.2 miles west of Fall River Golf Road on State Route (SR) 299.

Project Benefits:

The project will reduce maintenance costs and reduce the risk exposure of maintenance workers and the traveling public to rockfall.

 

Project Includes:

This project includes installing a rock fence, boulder removal, removal of rock to improve catchment area, creating a disposal area, replacing drainage, cold plane and overlay with Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA), and guardrail repair and replacement.

 

Current Project Schedule:

It is estimated this project will take 120 workings days, with all days requiring traffic control. Construction is scheduled to start in the fall of 2025.
