Horse Gulch Curve

 

The Project:

The Horse Gulch Curve project is in Tehama County along State Route (SR) 36, about 26 miles west of Red Bluff from 5.3 miles east to 5.8 miles east of Dry Creek Bridge.


Project Benefits:

The purpose of the project is to reduce the frequency and severity of collisions with the project limits.

 

Project Includes:

The project includes improving horizontal alignment, profile, shoulder width, superelevation, and sight distances. Removing existing fences and place new fences along new alignment. Replace or extend two culverts. Signage, delineators, pavement markers and pavement markings will all be upgraded to meet current standards. The project will also include guardrail construction.

 

Current Project Schedule:

It is estimated this project will take 55 workings days, with all days requiring traffic control. Construction is scheduled to start in spring of 2026.
