Happy Dutch Overlay on State Route 96 in Siskiyou County

The Project:

The Happy Dutch Overlay project will repave portions of State Route 96 in Siskiyou County approximately 18 miles west of Happy Camp, from Swillup Creek Bridge to 0.5 mile west of Independence Rest Area, and near Happy Camp, from 1.3 miles west of Little Grider Creek Bridge to South Indian Creek Road.

Project Includes:

Provide thin hot mix asphalt overlay with areas of concrete dig outs within the project areas. Upgrading guardrail to current standards, shoulder backing, and striping will also be included with the project.

Current Project Schedule:

There are an estimated 25 working days for the project, all of which will require traffic control. Construction is anticipated for 2026.
