Downtown Redding CAPM Project on Various Routes in Shasta County

Downtown Redding CAPMPROJECT OVERVIEW

The Downtown Redding Capital Preventive Maintenance (CAPM) Project will improve portions of State Routes 273, 44, and 299 through downtown Redding in Shasta County. The project will restore pavement, upgrade accessibility, and improve travel for drivers, bicyclists, and pedestrians. Additional improvements to sidewalks, curb ramps, crosswalks, culverts, traffic signals, and other roadway features will enhance safety, reliability, and extend the life of the roadway. Construction is anticipated to begin during the 2028 or 2029 construction season.

  • Project Approval and Environmental Document: Anticipate completion Summer 2027 
  • Final Project Design: Anticipated completion Winter 2028 
  • Construction: Anticipated begin construction Summer 2029
