Multiple Caltrans District 2 and PG&E projects are currently underway across State Routes 70, 89, and 36, bringing much-needed improvements to local infrastructure. But with progress comes delays, and we want you to be prepared!
Expect traffic delays across Plumas County, especially along SR 89, where total corridor delays for Caltrans projects may average 30 minutes. Some locations now require 24-hour traffic control on unpaved surfaces.
CALTRANS PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS:
- SR 89 - Crescent Mills: Left Turn Lane Project – 12 min delay, Mon-Fri, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
- SR 89 - Almanor West Rehab: Near Canyondam from just north of the Lake Almanor Spillway to State Route 36 – 14 min delay
- SR 36 - Chester Causeway: East of County Road A-13 – 13 min delay, Mon-Fri, 6:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
- SR 70 - Cromberg Combined Rehab: Two locations; on State Route 70 east of Two Rivers Road and East of Sloat Road to Camp Layman Road – 15 min delays at each, Mon-Fri, 6 a.m. – 7 p.m.
- SR 70 - Beckwourth CAPM: Near Portola – 15 min delay, Mon-Fri, 6:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
- SR 70/89 - Greenville WYE TMS Elements: Mostly shoulder closures with lane closures at times. Minimal delays expected.
PG&E PROJECTS (SR 70/89):
- Bucks Creek 1101/1102: Two locations; State Route 70, east of the Butte/Plumas County line to west of Storrie and west of Storrie to east of Caribou Road. Delays up to 15 minutes, Mon-Fri, 7 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
- Gansner Project: State Route 70 between the Greenville WYE to Keddie – Restorations late July, 15 min delays
- Crescent Mills & Greenville (Permit Work): Two locations; State Route 89 between Greenville and the Greenville Grade and south of Greenville Dump Road to east of Standard Mike Road. Monday-Friday during daytime hours. Occasional delays, up to 15 minutes
