Oasis Ramp Stormwater Improvement 6-7-2024

REDDING – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans District 2) and Robert J. Frank Construction, Inc. are preparing to begin work on a stormwater collection project on the Oasis Road on-ramp to southbound Interstate 5 in Shasta County. The $221k project includes a redesign of the stormwater collection on the ramp to prevent water sheeting during inclement weather periods by updating roadside gutters and curb ramps.

Construction activities are currently planned to start on Tuesday, June 11th. Travelers should plan for the nighttime closure of the southbound on ramp at times during the project. Motorists are urged to slow down and drive carefully in and around construction areas, follow speed limit reductions in place, and allot extra time for delays. The project is currently anticipated to be completed by the end of June.

Construction projects are subject to changes without prior notice. Caltrans and its contractors do our best to keep the public informed. To stay up to date on highway projects, please follow us on Facebook and X (formerly Twitter). Project information can also be found on the District 2 webpage. The public can also call (530) 225-3426 during working hours or send an email to D2PIO@dot.ca.gov. Updated highway conditions for California can be found on QuickMap and on One-Stop-Shop for the Western U.S. For more information about transportation and other infrastructure projects funded with state and federal investments, visit RebuildingCA.ca.gov and Build.gov.ca.
