Legislative and Governmental Affairs Program

Legislative Affairs facilitates the interaction between district executives and members of the California State Legislature whose districts fall within Orange County. Legislative Affairs serves as the central point of contact for local, state and federal elected officials and their staff seeking information about transportation issues related to the State Highway System (SHS). Legislative Affairs closely monitors all transportation related legislation and pending legislation that might affect the region’s transportation system. Legislative Affairs coordinates meetings with elected officials and oversees constituent concerns that originate from the offices of elected officials.

Memorial Signs

Legislative Affairs, in coordination with District Traffic Operations, assists the offices of elected officials with memorial sign installations and highway naming designations. This includes memorial signs for influential individuals in the community or fallen heroes such as U.S. Presidents, fallen officers or firefighters, and veterans.
