Scheduled Daytime and Nighttime Work on Pacific Coast Highway
In the Cities of Seal Beach and Newport Beach
ORANGE COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will have scheduled work in the cities of Seal Beach and Newport Beach, at various locations on State Route 1 (SR-1), also known as Pacific Coast Highway (PCH). Barring any emergencies (which may include weather), *there will be night work on Tuesday, May 28, through Thursday, May 30. The nighttime closures in Seal Beach will include work to restripe lanes back to the original alignment for the summer moratorium, which begins on Monday, May 27 and ends on Monday, September 2.
*Night closures in Seal Beach & Newport Beach:
Tuesday, May 28 from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Northbound SR-1 #1 (left lane) from Seal Beach Boulevard to Mariner Drive (city of Seal Beach)
- Southbound SR-1 #1 (left lane) from Mariner Drive to Seal beach Boulevard (city of Seal Beach)
- Southbound SR-1 #1,2, &3 (left lanes) from Bayside Drive to Jamboree Road from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. (city of Newport Beach)
Wednesday, May 29 and Thursday, May 30 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Northbound SR-1 #1 (left lane) from Seal Beach Boulevard to Mariner Drive (city of Seal Beach)
- Southbound SR-1 #1 (left lane) from Mariner Drive to Seal beach Boulevard (city of Seal Beach)
- Southbound SR-1 # 1,2, &3 (left lanes) from Bayside Drive to Jamboree Road from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. (city of Newport Beach)
- Southbound SR-1 # 2 (middle lane) from Seal Beach Boulevard to Kitts Highway (city of Seal Beach)
*Daytime closures Tuesday, May 28 to Friday, May 31 from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.
In the city of Newport Beach:
- Northbound SR-1 #3 (middle lane) from Jamboree Road to Bayside Drive
- Northbound SR-1 #1 (left lane) from Dover Drive/Bayshore Drive to Superior Avenue/Balboa Boulevard
- Southbound SR-1 #3 (middle lane) from Superior Avenue/Balboa Boulevard to Dover Drive/Bayshore Drive
Please obey all posted signs and traffic instructions for the safety of Caltrans crews and travelers.
Caltrans appreciates the public’s patience while we perform this work. Electronic changeable messages signs will notify drivers of the closure. The work schedule is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment and/or materials, and/or construction-related issues.
