There are 53 active Park and Ride facilities in San Diego County.
31 of these facilities are owned by the State of California.
22 of these facilities are owned by either various cities, the county, or private organizations.
Donation organizations (Goodwill Industries of San Diego County, the Salvation Army, and Amvets) have donation drop-offs located in 13 of our State owned facilities. They play a vital role in our Park and Ride program by providing a security presence at these locations as well as keeping them free of debris on a day to day basis.

Park and Ride lots are for the ride share commuter (vanpool/carpool) parking and are not intended for residential, commercial, or long-term parking. Daily commuter parking at Caltrans operated park and ride lots is free of charge; no permits are required.
Some Park and Ride lots are limited to Monday through Friday 5:30 am to 6:00 pm. There are signs posted at each of these lots.
24-hour parking is not recommended. Vehicles parked outside of designated spaces or left in excess of 72-hours may be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense (California Vehicle Code Section 22651(k)).
No loitering, camping, vending, or parking of vehicles 30-feet or longer is permitted at any Park and Ride lot (California Vehicle Code Section 22518).

While local police and CHP enforce guidelines at Park and Ride lots, there is no full-time security at these facilities. Park and Ride patrons park their vehicle at their own risk. Caltrans assumes no responsibility or liability due to fire, theft, vandalism, or damage of any kind to any vehicle or its contents parked in the Park and Ride facility. Patrons are strongly encouraged to lock their vehicles, remove all valuables from your vehicle, and report suspicious activity to the police.
