I-8 Connectors to Southbound I-5 Evening Closure May 27

SAN DIEGO —   Caltrans will close westbound and eastbound Interstate 8 (I-8) connectors to southbound Interstate 5 (I-5) on Wednesday, May 27, 11:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. for striping operations.

Westbound I-8 motorists may connect northbound I-5, exit at Sea World Drive, and turn left to the southbound I-5 on-ramp.

Eastbound I-8 motorists may continue and exit on Taylor Street/Hotel Circle, turn left, continue over the Presidio Park overcrossing to reach the westbound I-8 on-ramp from Taylor Street/Hotel Circle, and then merge onto westbound I-8. Westbound I-8 motorists can connect to northbound I-5 by exiting at Sea World Drive and turning left onto the southbound I-5 on-ramp.

Motorists are reminded to be Work Zone Alert if traveling in the area and to watch for highway workers and moving construction equipment.

The work schedule is subject to change due to weather conditions, traffic incidents, or other work-related reasons.
