SAN DIEGO — Caltrans will close State Route 163 (SR-163) connectors to northbound Interstate 5 (I-5) and the northbound I-5 off-ramp to West Hawthorn Street Saturday, February 21, from 3 a.m. to 10 a.m. for roadwork.
Motorists travelling northbound on SR-163 will continue north, connect to westbound I-8, and connect to I-5.
Motorists traveling southbound on SR-163 will connect to southbound I-5, take the Imperial Avenue off-ramp, and turn left to the northbound I-5 on-ramp.
West Hawthorn Street motorist will continue northbound on I-5 to the Sassafras Street/India Street off-ramp, turn left onto Sassafras Street to the southbound Pacific Highway, and proceed south to West Hawthorn Street.
Motorists are reminded to be Work Zone Alert if traveling in the area and to watch for highway workers and moving construction equipment.
The work schedule is subject to change due to weather conditions, traffic incidents, or other work-related reasons.
