SAN DIEGO — Caltrans will close State Route 163 (SR-163) connectors to northbound Interstate 5 (I-5) and the northbound I-5 off-ramp to West Hawthorn Street starting Monday, December 1, from 10 p.m. until Tuesday, December 2, at 6 a.m. for road work.
Motorists travelling northbound on SR-163 will continue north on SR-163 to the westbound I-8 connector. Proceed to the I-8 westbound connector to the Northbound I-5.
Motorists traveling southbound on SR-163 will continue southbound on SR-163 to the Southbound I-5 connector. Proceed south onto the Imperial Avenue off-ramp, then turn left onto the northbound I-5 on-ramp from Imperial Avenue.
West Hawthorn Street motorist will continue northbound on I-5 to the Sassafras Street/India Street off-ramp. Then turn left onto Sassafras Street to the southbound Pacific Highway and proceed south to West Hawthorn Street.
Motorists are reminded to be Work Zone Alert if traveling in the area and to watch for highway workers and moving construction equipment.
The work schedule is subject to change due to weather conditions, traffic incidents, or other work-related reasons.
