SR-163/I-5 Connectors Closed Evenings October 12 to 16

San Diego —   Caltrans will close the northbound and southbound Interstate 5 (I-5) connectors to northbound State Route 163 (SR-163) in the evenings from 7:00 p.m.to 5:00 a.m. from Sunday, October 12 to Thursday, October 16 for broadband installation. The southbound SR-163 connector to southbound I-5 will be closed from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. on the same days.

  • Motorists travelling northbound on I-5 will continue on I-5 and connect to eastbound I-8 to reach the SR-163 connector.
  • Motorists travelling southbound on I-5 will continue on I-5 and connect to eastbound SR-94, then to the northbound I-15, then to the northbound 805, then to the westbound I-8 to reach the SR-163 connector.
  • Motorists travelling along the southbound SR-163 headed to the southbound I-5 will be detoured to the 10th Avenue off-ramp, continue towards C Street, turn left onto C Street, and then to the southbound I-5 on-ramp.

Motorists are reminded to be Work Zone Alert if traveling in the area and to watch for highway workers and moving construction equipment.

The work schedule is subject to change due to weather conditions, traffic incidents, or other work-related reasons.
