SAN DIEGO —   Caltrans contractor crews will close all lanes of eastbound Interstate 8 (I-8) just east of State Route 125 on Thursday, October 3 from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. to erect a sign structure. The work is part of the I-8 Pavement and Bridge Rehabilitation Improvement Project from El Cajon Blvd to Marshall Ave.

The closure will begin just west of Jackson Drive. All eastbound I-8 motorists will be detoured to northbound State Route 125 (SR-125), then eastbound on State Route 52 (SR-52), to southbound State Route 67 (SR-67) to eastbound I-8. Messaging signs will be in place to alert motorists of the upcoming closure.

Motorists are reminded to be Work Zone Alert if traveling in the area and to watch for highway workers and moving construction equipment.

The work schedule is subject to change due to weather conditions, traffic incidents, or other work-related reasons.
