Travelers who do not intend to go to Mexico will exit earlier

SAN DIEGO — Caltrans crews will close the Siempre Viva Rd./Last U.S. Exit on State Route 905 (SR-905) for three nights, from Tuesday, November 15 through Thursday, November 17, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Those who do not wish to cross the Otay Mesa Port of Entry into Mexico should keep right and take the eastbound SR-11 connector, exit Enrico Fermi Dr. off-ramp, then turn right on to Enrico Fermi Dr.

**A U-Turn to USA will be available via the left lane on SR-905 before the Port of Entry for motorists who miss the detour signage.

EB SR-905 Siempre Viva road. Off Ramp-Closure diagram. Detours: For SB SR-125 or EB SR-905, take SR-11 connector. Exist Enrico Fermi Dr. off-ramp. Turn Right onto Enrico Fermi Drive. U-turn to USA will be available via the left lane on SR-905 before the Port of Entry for motorists who miss the detour signage.

Additionally, the southbound Interstate 805 to westbound SR-905 connector will be closed Tuesday, November 15, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Detour signage will direct motorists to the eastbound SR-905 connector, exit Caliente Ave. off-ramp, turn left onto Caliente Ave., then turn onto westbound SR-905.

The eastbound SR-905 Britannia Blvd. off-ramp will also be closed Wednesday, November 16 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Travelers headed to the Cross Border Xpress (CBX) can continue on SR-905, exit La Media off-ramp, turn left onto La Media Rd., then turn left onto westbound SR-905 towards Brittania Blvd.

The project includes asphalt and pavement micro-surfacing, new thermoplastic striping, and upgraded wrong-way driver striping enhancements, at all ramps along SR-905 from San Ysidro to Otay Mesa according to Caltrans.

Motorists are reminded to be Work Zone Alert if traveling in the area and to watch for highway workers and moving construction equipment.

The construction schedule is subject to change due to weather conditions, traffic incidents, or other construction-related reasons.
