SR-52 Operational Improvements Project
Caltrans, San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG), and the City of Santee hosted a public meeting for the State Route 52 (SR-52) Operational Improvements Project on Thursday, December 11, 2025. Thank you to everyone who participated and shared valuable input regarding key project topics, including proposed improvements and the environmental review process. Current Scope
1. Adding a westbound Managed Lane from Mast Boulevard to Santo Road.
2. Relocate the bike path to the south side of SR-52.
3. Reversible Managed Lane between Santo Rd and Mission Gorge Rd
4. Increase westbound SR-52 from two lanes to three lanes from SR-125 to Mast Boulevard.
5. Increase eastbound SR-52 from two lanes to three lanes from Mast Boulevard to east of the San Diego River bridge.
