I-8/West Willows Road Interchange Improvements

Project Overview

This collaborative project between Caltrans District 11 and SANDAG aims to improve the operation of the Interstate 8 (I-8) Interchange at West Willows Road in east San Diego County. The project is evaluating new interchange concepts that would better serve the current and future needs of nearby communities, including the Viejas Band of Kumeyaay Indians.

Project Status and Schedule

The project is in the Project Initiation Document (PID) phase, which is anticipated to be completed in Spring 2027.

Funding

This project is currently unfunded for future phases.
