Monitor Pass (State Route 89)

Alpine County – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will be re-opening State Route 89 (Monitor Pass) at the State Route 4/89 Junction, as of 1:00 p.m., on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. Our Caltrans Woodfords maintenance crew have cleared the roadway from this past weather event and deemed it safe for reopening to motorists.
