No Traffic Controls Through Next Spring
Alpine County – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has officially winterized the State Route 4 (SR-4) / Ebbetts Pass Pavement Rehabilitation Project for the season in Alpine County.
State Route 4
- No highway lane closures or traffic controls for construction work beginning Monday, October 5, 2026, through Tuesday, Jun 1, 2027.
Motorists should expect 5-to-10-minute delays and use alternate routes whenever possible. All work is scheduled to occur as listed but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment/materials, and construction-related issues.
