One-Way Traffic Control Next Week
Alpine County – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform the following highway traffic controls and lane closures on State Route 4 (SR-4) / Ebbetts Pass for construction work next week in Alpine County. Work will occur as follows:
State Route 4
- Alternating lane closures from Coral Hollow Trailhead to Silvertip Campground for drainage work beginning Monday, August 31, through Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Full highway closure from Kinney Creek to Elbow Creek for drainage work beginning Monday, August 31, through Wednesday, September 2, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Full highway closure from Kinney Creek to Silvercreek Campground for drainage work beginning Monday, August 31, through Wednesday, September 2, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Motorists should expect 5-to-10-minute delays and use alternate routes whenever possible. All work is scheduled to occur as listed but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment/materials, and construction-related issues.
