One-Way Traffic Control & Full Highway Closures Next Week
Alpine County – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform the following highway traffic controls and lane closures on State Route 4 (SR-4) / Ebbetts Pass for construction work next week in Alpine County. Work will occur as follows:
State Route 4
- Full highway closure near Raymond Meadows for drainage work on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- One-way traffic control at Silver Creek for drainage work on Monday, August 10, 2026, from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.
- One-way traffic control from the Alpine/Calaveras County Line to Lodgepole Campground for drainage work on Tuesday, August 11, from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., and on Thursday, August 13, 2026, from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- One-way traffic control from Bear Valley to the Alpine Ranger Station for drainage work on Tuesday, August 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and on Friday, August 14, 2026, from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- One-way traffic control from the Alpine Ranger Station to Lake Alpine for drainage work on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Motorists should expect 5-to-10-minute delays and use alternate routes whenever possible. All work is scheduled to occur as listed but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment/materials, and construction-related issues.
