Closures on State Route 99, 120, and Interstate 5
Stanislaus County – TThe California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will conduct various lane and ramp closures next week on State Route 99 (SR-99), State Route 120 (SR-120), and Interstate 5 (I-5). Work is scheduled to occur as follows:
State Route 99
- Moving closure of the #3 (right) lanes from the Merced County line to the San Joaquin County line for a sweeping operation beginning Monday, December 1, through Friday, December 5, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.
- Long-term, full closure of the Enoch Christoffersen Rest Areas in Turlock for maintenance work.
State Route 120
- Reduced lanes between Johnson Avenue and 6th Avenue in Oakdale for utility work beginning Wednesday, December 3, through Thursday, December 4, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
Interstate 5
- Long-term, full closures of the northbound and southbound Westley Safety Roadside Rest Areas and the auxiliary lane leading to the southbound rest area exit for construction work.
Note: This project is expected to continue through the spring of 2026.
Motorists should expect 5-to-10-minute delays and use alternate routes whenever possible. All work is scheduled to occur as listed but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment/materials, and construction-related issues.
