Lane & Ramp Closures on State Routes 59, 99, & 165
Merced County – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will have traffic controls in place for the following construction and maintenance activities on State Route 59, (SR-59), SR-99 and SR-165 in Merced County next week. Work is scheduled to occur as follows:
State Route 59
- One way traffic control on northbound and southbound SR-59 from Rooseve Rd to Chamberland Rd for paving operation on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm.
- One way traffic control on northbound and southbound SR-59 from Chamberland Rd to Furtado Rd for paving operation on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm.
- One way traffic control on northbound and southbound SR-59 from Owens Creek to Vassar Rd for paving operation on Friday, August 21, 2026, from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm.
- One way traffic control on northbound and southbound SR-59 from Cone Ave to Gerard Ave for paving operation on Thursday, August 20, 2026, from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm.
- One way traffic control on northbound and southbound SR-59 from Vassar Ave to Dickerson Rd for utility work on Friday, August 21, 2026, from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm.
State Route 99
- Overnight full on-ramp closure on southbound SR-99 at Mission Ave over-crossing for striping operation on Sunday, August 16 through Friday August 21, 2026, from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am.
- Overnight full on-ramp closure on northbound SR-99 and SR-59/MLK Jr Way for striping operation on Sunday, August 16 through Friday August 21, 2026, from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am.
- Overnight full off ramp closure for southbound SR-99 at 16th St under-crossing for striping operations on Sunday, August 16 through Friday August 21, 2026, from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am.
- Overnight full on and off-ramp closure for southbound SR-99 at 16th St undercrossing for striping operation on Sunday, August 16 through Friday August 21, 2026, from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am.
- Overnight full on and off-ramps closure on SR-99 at Winton Parkway overcrossing for striping operation on Sunday, August 16 through Friday August 21, 2026, from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am.
- Overnight full off ramp closure for southbound SR-99 at Collier Rd underpass for striping operation on Sunday, August 16 through Friday August 21, 2026, from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am.
- Overnight full on and off ramp closure for northbound and on ramp for southbound SR-99 at Shanks Rd overpass for striping operation on Sunday, August 16 through Friday August 21, 2026, from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am.
- Overnight full off ramp closure for southbound SR-99 at Bradbury Rd overpass for striping operation on Sunday, August 16 through Friday August 21, 2026, from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am.
- Overnight full on ramp closure for northbound SR-99 at Bradbury Rd overpass for striping operation on Sunday, August 16 through Friday August 21, 2026, from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am.
- Overnight full off-ramp closure for northbound SR-99 at South Turlock overpass/Golden State Blvd for striping operation on Sunday, August 16 through Friday August 21, 2026, from 8:00 pm to 5:00 am.
State Route 165
- Overnight right shoulder closure on SR-165 at Willmoth Rd for utility work beginning Monday, August 17 through Thursday, August 20, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
Motorists should expect 5-to-10-minute delays and use alternate routes whenever possible. All work is scheduled to occur as listed but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment/materials, and construction-related issues.
