Temporary Highway Closures Next Week
Alpine County – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will conduct the following traffic controls on State Route 4 (SR-4) and SR-89 in Alpine County. Work is scheduled as follows:
State Route 4
- Full highway temporary closure from Lake Alpine to Raymond Meadows for storm conditions beginning Monday, October 13, at 12:00 p.m. through Thursday, October 16, 2025, at12:00 p.m.
State Route 89
- Full highway temporary closure at the SR-4/89 Junction for storm conditions beginning Monday, October 13, at 1:00 p.m. through Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 12:00 p.m.
Motorists should expect 5-to-10-minute delays and use alternate routes whenever possible. All work is scheduled to occur as listed but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment/materials, and construction-related issues.
