Alternating Lane Closures on State Routes 88
Alpine County – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform the following highway closures on State Route 88 (SR-88) for construction and maintenance work next week within Alpine County. Work will occur as follows:
State Route 4
- Alternating lane closures from the Calaveras/Alpine County line to the East Carson River Bridge for drainage work beginning Monday, July 13, through Friday, July 17, 2026, from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
State Route 88
- Alternating lane closures at the California/Nevada State electrical work beginning Monday, July 13, through Friday, July 17, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
All work is scheduled to occur as listed but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment/materials, and construction-related issues.
