Alternating Lane Closures on State Routes 88 & 89
Alpine County – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform the following highway closures on State Route 88 (SR-88) and SR-89 for construction and maintenance work next week within Alpine County. Work will occur as follows:
State Route 88
- Alternating lane closures from the California/Nevada State to Fredericksburg Road electrical work beginning Monday, June 29, through Wednesday, July 1, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Alternating lane closures at Schneider Road for electrical work beginning Monday, June 29, through Wednesday, July 1, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
State Route 89
- Alternating lane closures at the Alpine/El Dorado County Line for electrical work beginning Monday, June 29, through Wednesday, July 1, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
All work is scheduled to occur as listed but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment/materials, and construction-related issues.
