No Traffic Controls Scheduled
Monitor Pass to Re-Open Next Week
Alpine County – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will not have traffic controls in place next week for construction and maintenance operations.
Ebbetts Pass Update:
Caltrans Woodford Maintenance crews have moved the SR-4 / Ebbetts Pass closure up from the SR-4/89 Junction closure gate up to the Raymond Meadows closure gate. Caltrans will begin seasonal pass clearing operations on Ebbetts Pass early next week, the highway remains closed until further notice.
Monitor Pass Update:
Caltrans will re-open State Route 89 / Monitor Pass to motorists for the season beginning Monday, April 7, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. Caltrans reminds motorists to continue using caution while driving in winter conditions and watch for icy road surfaces in the overnight and early morning hours.

Changeable Message Signs (CMS) will display information regarding the pass closures for motorists.
