Overnight, One-Way Traffic Control Expected October 20-November 3, 2024
Stockton – Caltrans is preparing for an emergency pavement repair project on State Route 4 near the Middle River Bridge in San Joaquin County.
Crews will perform overnight, one-way traffic control for 15 days, Sunday through Thursday nights beginning on October 20, through November 3, 2024, from 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.
Motorists should expect up to 10-minute delays during this one-way traffic control lane closure and should consider alternate routes when possible. Caltrans will have flaggers and roadside message signs alerting motorists of the one-way traffic control.
This $460,000 project will be performed by Pavement Preservation Specialties, Inc. (Tehachapi, CA)
A more extensive highway rehabilitation project is slated to begin in February 2026, that will repave the roadway surface, install new Traffic Management System elements and new highway signage, spanning nearly nine miles from the San Joaquin/Contra Costa County line (at Old River Bridge) to Whiskey Slough Road in the community of Holt. More information on this State Route 4 Delta Pavement Improvement Project can be found at https://dot.ca.gov/caltrans-near-me/district-10/district-10-current-projects/10-1f320.
Future traffic advisories and social media posts will provide all scheduled highway and closure locations, dates and details.
Schedules are subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment and/or materials and construction related issues.
